About Me
Who is Mrs. Tyree Cooper?
My name is Tyree Cooper. Born & Raised in Oregon City, Oregon.
Growing up, I loved the idea of pageantry and dreamed of participating in the Portland Rose Festival or another type of pageant. Back then, my childhood bullies impacted my self-esteem and I carried that into adulthood. I never thought that I was smart enough, pretty enough or strong enough to be in a "pageant." But I was so wrong!
Pageantry is no longer just a "beauty contest!" Todays pageant is more about community service, and professionalism, with 50% of the total core based on performance in interview, 25% evening gown and 25% is in fitness.
On May 6th, 2023 I competed in my first pageant to represent the state of Oregon in the Mrs. America Pageant. I won the title of Mrs. Oregon American! I stepped on the Oregon America stage Spring 2025 but God had other plans for me. I am excited to represent the State of Oregon in the Mrs. Oregon America's United States pageant in North Carolina August 2025.

My story of Weight loss & how self-care became a priority for me!
In my forties I decided it was time to make my health a priority. After yo-yo dieting my entire life, and weight related health issues regularly impacting me, I made a drastic decision to have a surgery that would change my life forever.
In April, 2018, I had Gastric Bypass Surgery. That was the tool I needed to loose 130+ pounds forever! My health has improved more than I would have ever imagined. It took me a long time to stop "WISHING" for a change and start "Dreaming" that it was possible. I took small steps that lead to my dreams becoming reality! I am committed and consistently working on being my "BEST SELF." I am learning to embrace the skin I am in and love the unique "imperfections" that make me "ME." This has helped give me the confidence for new adventures!
Why Pageantry?
The wonderful thing about pageantry is that it gives you a platform to be able to share with the world what is important to you. Part of what makes me who I am is my love for people! I volunteer with many organizations that improve the lives of others. Many of the organizations I volunteer with are related to foster children. This is near and dear to my heart as my husband grew up in the foster system. We experienced being foster parents before adopting from the foster care system. Being involved with the foster care system I realized that children do not often get photographed. This means when they grow up they have very few photos to see what they looked like as a child. This is why the Fostered Memories Network was created. (please go to the Fostered Memories site for more information)
My Platform & My Mission
As a former foster parent, I found that many children in the system do not have photos of their childhood when they are adopted into their forever homes or age out of the system. Even with "Life Books" and terrific case workers, photos often get lost in the shuffle. This is why I founded the Fostered Memories Network.
Through Photography, I want to impact the 6,000+ foster children in Oregon by providing 10 of the developmental assets they need to succeed in life. Since 2017, I have captured memories of disadvantaged children, and recently founded the Fostered Memories Network of photographers. This year, we hope to expand the network of photographers to reach more of the 86,000 foster children in the Western United States. We are looking to partner with media companies to print and digitally store priceless memories for youth that are in the foster care system. Because every childhood deserves to be remembered!
